High Yield Investments - Can You Profit From It?By David Spicer There are two high yield investments that are well worth taking a look at when you are thinking of investing for the long term. These are stock investment and real estate investments. Both of them are considered to be high yield investments as they have a potential to make someone a lot more money than what is being offered by banks or government backed investments. Right now is a perfect time to buy in the stock market and real estate market if you are looking for long term high yield investments. Both the stock market and the real estate market have taken a beating lately and now prices are lower than ever. You are better off to buy when the stock market and real estate market are low as you can then sell when the markets rebound. The real estate market is expected to rebound in about two years and the stock market will probably rebound after the election. Now is the perfect opportunity to buy if you want potential high yield investments. High yield investments offer a high return for your money. While you may look to real estate and stock as good long term investments, if you want to make money with short term high yield investments, you should look to commodities. Commodities are traded on the daily exchange along with stock but are not shares of corporations. Commodities are things that we use on a daily basis. You can buy shares of anything from orange juice to corn on the commodities exchange. Right now, if you are looking for high yield investments, you should look to gold. Because the US economy is suffering and appears to be heading for even more of a recession than we are already in, gold is expected to rise in value. Gold has already risen in value over 200 percent since 2002 and is expected to go up even more in the next year. Gold is now about $920 an ounce and is expected to reach $1000 an ounce very soon. Every day, as the price of oil goes up and the dollar goes down, the price of gold goes up. Other commodities that may earn you high yield investments on a short term basis are corn. Corn is used to make ethanol which is used for gasoline to make cleaner air. Corn prices have shot up in recent years. And since corn is used for feed for meats, prices for just about every type of food in the US have also risen dramatically. Corn is something that is a good commodities investment. High yield investments are not without risk. You can end up making a lot of money if you have an good system or have been following the market, or you can end up losing quite a bit of money as well. High yield investments such as stock investments and risky mutual fund investments are a good idea for someone who is just starting out investing as they have time to recoup their loss. Someone who is soon to retire is better off with secure investments. David Spicer is a very successful investor.
